Karate (Shotokan)

Our Shotokan based Karate utilises Kata and 2 person drills as well as the bunkai (applications) of the Kata.  Classes are on a Monday and Wednesday evening.  Students from the age of 8 and up may take these Karate classes

Karate (Goju)

Our Goju Ryu style of Karate is Shorei Kan and has all the usual Goju Ryu elements such as basics and kata.  This style is taught by Harry Bergeest Sensei, 6th Dan

Japanese Jujitsu

Japanese Jujitsu involves throws, locks, chokes, escapes and takedowns as a full form of self defence.  Classes are on a Tuesday and Thursday evening for teenagers and above only

BJJ

Brazilian Jujitsu is a ground wrestling sport style martial art taught by a fully qualified black belt instructor Cade Brown with up to 4 classes per week on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday evening and Saturday mornings

Kobudo

Matayoshi Kobudo is from Okinawa and studies many different types of weapons including Bo, Sai, Tunkua and many more.  Classes are on a Tuesday and Thursday evening and for teeenagers and above only

Tai Chi

Tai Chi can be described as 'meditation in motion' and is from the Chen style.  Morning classes available twice a week on a Tuesday and Thursday and are taught by Peter Balde

GODAN GRADINGS

Both Steve Newson and I ventured to Brisbane recently to teach at the IBF day there.  Whilst there we were both tested for our Godan (5th Dan) in Jujitsu.  I am happy to announce that we both received the honour of being promoted to Godan Jujitsu.  Thank you to all our students in Jujitsu for their help and to the IBF.

In addition I have also received a Rokudan (6th Dan) Karate and Sandan (3rd Dan) Kobudo
